Thankful Thursday #1

Today I am very Thankful for Blogger!

I know that may seem strange but without Blogger I would not know some of the most amazing ladies that I now consider beloved girlfriends.

True, I started surfing the internet and came across some amazing crafters, but until I started the PumpkinSpice blog, I was a little sheltered.  Then I met these wonderful ladies...

They opened my eyes and expanded my friendship circle!  

It is so amazing to craft via Skype (or work while they craft.. hehehe) and meet their families and fur babies.  Technology can be so wonderful.

When in need of a little inspiration or pick me up... I just pop over to one of my bloggy girlfriends blogs.  Its like sitting in the living room chatting over a cup of coffee.  

I wish I could have them all over for a craft night, but until I own a private jet 

(I can dream!) 

Skype and Blogger will have to do!

Happy 2014 - WHAT? Wednesday!

Happy New Year!!

I am so excited for 2014... why, you ask?

Well 2013 was an amazing year and I was able to share time with some amazing ladies on the Pumpkin Spice Design Team... they inspired me so much in crafting and other areas of life as well.

So needless to say, I was very sad when the decision was made to not have a Design Team for 2014 and I pouted for a few days (and some tears where shed) but then I put on my big girl pants.

Think Denine!

And the thinking began.. and coffee drinking and lots of 'trashed thoughts'.

During this first week of 2014 I will explain in more detail what each of these topics may include.  But for the most part, I am sure you can figure it out.

Today is WHAT? Wednesday!

What is WHAT? Wednesday!?  This is the day of the week that I will ask you your thoughts on something.  It could be a new product, an old product, something in the news, or just a thought.  Pretty much anything that could get us all chatting about the topic.

So here is to our 1st WHAT? Wednesday! together.

It's January 1st of 2014, we all made resolutions last night before midnight (well most of us), What is your "this is happening in 2014" resolution and what is your "It would be nice but there is always next year" resolution for 2014?

My "This is happening in 2014" resolution is 

FIND SPACE

We moved in November from our very loved home of 8 years, to a rental home, while we wait for our New Home to finish.  

The rental feels much like this cute little playhouse.

So finding room for all of us and our treasures has been a REAL challenge.  Closetmaid Cubeicals have become our #1 piece of bedroom furniture. lol

So my goal this year is to FIND SPACE, whether by purging or creating, I will FIND SPACE in 2014.

My "There is always next year" resolution is

WEIGHT LOSE

It is there on the list every year and every year I find a new fad or gimmick to try and fail.  This year I am not going to do any gimmicks or fads, I am just going to rely on my knowledge.  I have read so many books on the subject, from the 'mind over matter' to 'fasting' to 'body building' to 'only eat green'.

What I know is that "I love Food" and I love feeling energized.

 I don't like to count calories and I don't like 90 minute workouts.  My days are packed, so my workouts need to be 30 minutes or less from the time I put on my shoes to the time I take them off.

So I have 2 resources I am going to use January through March - Gorge Cruise's 8 minute workout (love this guy and his books) and a new book I started by Rachel Cosgrove Drop Two Sizes.  

Both run on the principle of building lean muscle.

WHAT? Wednesday!

Today's Daily Inspiration with Denine - Card

Hello Friends,

Woot Hoot... It's Friday!!!  Is your August as busy an ours?  We have something nearly every Friday/Saturday/Sunday for the entire month.  I don't remember July being so busy.  But it is all FUN activities... so Pumpkin and I are excited.  We have 2 Daisy Events this month, A surprise vacation for Pumpkin, School clothes shopping for Pumpkin, Mariners Baseball Game and other surprises for Pumpkin and Family... so much fun!!!


Today I have a quick card to share with you.... for my sweet Daughter in Law... we are expected Grandbaby #2 in February... eeekkkk...

I used Echo Park - For the Record 2.  I love this paper line.  So pretty and the designs can be used for pretty much any type of card.

I tried faux stitching for the first time... obviously I need to practice.  But it was fun.

Today's SPS Inspiration with Denine - Card

Hello Friends,

Today I wanted to use some of the adorable papers from the Once Upon a Springtime paper pad by Graphic 45.  I have been hoarding this pad for a long time.

Isn't this gorgeous?  I just love these papers and the card style is so much fun.  You all know I love to layer paper to show off all the designs.. so this was perfect.

I made this starting with a 4 x 12 inch base, that will make 3 cards from each 12 x 12 piece of paper.  Pretty awesome, right!!

After I cut the 4 x 12 inch base out of Core'dinations Aspargus, I just started layering my papers.  Super fun.  Pumpkin LOVED it!

Pumpkin started swimming this week.  She is having such a BLAST.  Her words - "mommy, call me your little dolphin".  hehe.

Today's with Denine - ramblings and pictures

Happy Friday Everyone,

Have you been watching the manufacture blogs and all their wonderful products that are ready for your creative minds or are coming out soon?

I am really excited for the holiday design lines to be available.

Pumpkin and I are spending the weekend (and probably next as well) cleaning the craft room/warehouse.  It has become a mess with all the frantic order fills I was getting done after getting back from India.

So glad to be home, nothing like your own shower and bed, but wow... so much catch up to do with both the store and my accounting clients.  Not to mention the poor house.... I is feeling really neglected. 

Hubby worked from home this week, which is AWESOME.... so excited to have him home for family time with Pumpkin and I.  Anyhow, so far, we had a kitchen sink malfunction which required taking all the pipes apart and cleaning them (yes, I am a handy-woman too).  The fence needs repaired, so we have 12 boards coming and then need to paint... and the master bedroom toilet is having issues so I need to replace the inner parts on that this weekend too....

Here are some pictures from India... I forgot the camera most of the time.. shame on me.

The picture on the right is the airport in our destination city... hehehe  The plane we took seated a total of about 24 people my hubby said.  I was to nervous to look around and see.

 This is Pumpkin with her cousins and her dad... chilling.  The played alot of Angry Birds.  lol
Pumpkin showed her cousin Tubby how to 'do arts and crafts' with an awesome vinyl cling set I got for the trip, by Melissa and Doug I think.

Well that is enough rambling for the day... I will be back to Inspirational projects next week.
