December SPS DT Blog Hop & Design Team Call

Hello Friends,

Are you still full from Thanksgiving??  I sure am. :)

What a wonderful time of year fall brings us.

First we have Harvest Festivals/Halloween celebrations for the kiddo's then we get to have Family Dinners with an excuse to eat until we fall asleep.

I don't know how everyone else celebrates Thanksgiving, but we usually eat and eat and eat and play lots of obnoxious card board games.  So much laughing and giggling, out tummies hurt by the end of the evening.  Laughter is such great exercise!! hehe

So then we sprint into December.... oh my... Christmas is just a few of weeks away.

The Fabulous ShopPumpkinSpice Designers have created some jaw dropping projects to inspire you.  I just love these ladies.  They are such a pleasure to work with and SO talented!

This month they have all focused on using the Echo Park paper lines.  I think you will be inspired by their beautiful creations.  Echo Park has adorable paper to begin with and then you add the talent of these ladies... WOWZA... BAMM... Gorgeous results.

Be sure to visit each of their blogs and leave them some love via comments.

Layout Wednesday - My 1st Gypsy Project

Hello Fellow Crafters and Friends,

I have a layout today using the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge, my Gypsy and 'I Believe' paper from My Mind's Eye.

I left a lot of open space near the pictures for journaling.

I used my Gypsy to connect the words, year and base circle into one cut, then was able to copy and paste the words and year exactly the same to a second layout to cut just like the base, but without the circle.  I was pretty excited about that.  No guess work to get them the same for layering.  I also cut out some mats for the pictures.

This is a picture of the back of the base paper. I am a paper lover and didn't want to waste the pretty pattern behind the circle base, so on a 3rd layout, I copied the circle base, made them slightly smaller and cut out just the circle on the back side of the Layout page so I could utilize the patterend paper that was going to be hidden.  Silly I know, but I just love all the pretty paper.

Here is what the back looks like after assembling.  You could even use it as a layout base just as is.

I was late when I completed and took pictures so the picture quality is not to good.

I also inked the edges of the letters and numbers and the base circle to give it a little seperation.

Recipe:
Paper - MME - "I Believe" Winter Berries is the base paper
MME - "I Believe" Trees Glittered Paper is the layer paper
            Textrued cardstock for the circle
Embellishments - flower from garland used in decorating this year.
Tag and 'ribbon paper' - "I Believe" Glittered Cardstock Accessories Sheet
Ink - Black from G Studio and Moss Green from Versa, i think. (going on memory here.)

I have not done a layout for over a year... oh my goodness.  I think it is time to get back to scrapping.

Thank you for stopping by.  Hope you enjoyed.
Sorry posted so late, I have a sick little one and she needs my TLC.

Peachy Keen Stamps – Let’s Face it Friday Challenge

Hello Fellow Crafters,

Today I am posting a project I am submitting for the Peachy Keen 'Let's Face it Friday' Challenge. Isn't that a cute title for the Friday challenges? They also have a Tuesday challenge. I thought I would start participating in these each week so it would encourage me to use my adorable Face Stamps from PeachyKeen.

Ok, so here is the project.

An 'embellished' brown paper bag. Ok, so it is now an adorable Holiday Gift bag. I just love these little face stamps and of course the super cute snowmen from my favorite cricut cart – Doodlecharms – This is a must have cartridge. One of my first acquired and I still use it all the time.

Sorry pictures are a bit dark... gloomy rainy day in Wonderful Washington. :)

Recipe:
Papers – "I Believe" - from My Mind's Eye and white cardstock
Stickles – Crystal Ice, and the blue and green came from a holiday pack with no name on them
Adhesive – Zots dimensionals, ATG
From stash – Ribbon and brown lunch bag

Hope you enjoy. It sure is fun making the Holiday Projects.
Oh click on the Peachy Keen logo on the right to go to their challenge page and play along. There is a lot of great inspiration over there too.

3 holiday craft ideas…

Hello Blogger Friends and Family,

It has been far too long since my last post.
First I want to give a great big thank you to Courtney of CourtsCrafts she has given me my very first Blog Award.  I am so honored to be a recipient of this award.  Lil me??!!  yyyyeeeeekkkkkssss... (I am squealing with happiness)
1. Thank and link back to the person who awarded you this.
2. Share 8 things about yourself.
3. Pay it forward to 8 bloggers that you have recently discovered
4. Contact those bloggers and tell them about their awards
Courtney creates such beautiful project post after post. You really must hop on over to her site and take a peek.
8 things about myself… hmmmm
  1. I have 4 children ages 20, 18, 15 and 3.
  2. When I was in high school, my dream was to become a Corporate Accountant. (got the degree… but really enjoyed cutting paper more.) J
  3. I am very nervous about blogging.
  4. I am a junkie for the written word, whether in print or online. I love to read.
  5. My favorite colors are natural greens and then of course PINK!
  6. PumpkinSpice is actually referring to my youngest daughter.
  7. My craft room is a disaster area
  8. I am a bargain hunter and love to go shopping!

I would like to pass this blog award onto these lovely ladies that inspire me with their awesome projects and wealth of information.
They may not see me posting comments often but I am in the background stalking there blogs. J

There is so many more I would love to add and SO much inspiration shared among the crafting world…
That is one of the things I just LOVE about us crafters…. WE SHARE… it's just part of US.
Happy crafting to all and Thank you so much Courtney… you make me smile!

    Ok… the projects.

    1. This one is a gift so I will not say too much about it.. but I also wanted to post it on the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Me Monday #38

I sure think it turned out cute though.

This was a lot of fun to make and really stretched my creativity because I usually don't use the 'vintage' colors.

Project 2 is another gift, for my mom.
My inspiration for this one came from Courtney's post "Thanksgiving Favor Box". I just loved the concept and thought I would adjust it to make a Book Box with book mark.
I have finally learn the technique of embossing.. I think!! Hehehe..

Sorry pick is upside down. :(

And Project #3 is for PumpkinSpice… aka Prisha… her first Advent Calendar. I saw this idea during a blog hop and cannot remember who originally posted the concept.
I changed mine a bit to make it a 'double' feature. J
After Pumpkin takes the daily tag off to get her treat she can use the tag as an ornament for the tree. Super Fun.

Well I hope you enjoyed my post today.
My goal for the coming year is to get more projects up on my blog. I so love creating.

There are some really great blog hops happening during the month of December… please share any you know of with me… I love the hops and all the inspiration shared during them.

    Happy Sunday

    Blogger Hugs,
    Denine
