Hello Fellow Craft Bloggers,
I am so excited to be part of The Gyptian's – The Bug Bytes Design Team, Thank you so much Pam!
I am so appreciative that I have been given the opportunity to join a group of ladies that are so amazingly talented.
I wanted to create a card for my husband to take to work for his co-workers as well as using the COM. (Cartridge of the month)
This was a challenge for me. I don't use Accent Essentials for much more than the flowers but I was pleasantly surprised with some of the cuts I never thought about using. No wonder this was one of the cartridges included with the purchase of the Expression. I believe I will be using it more often now. J
When I think of Cinco de Mayo, my 1st thought is of all the festive colors and ruffled dresses and lights and bright foods. So, I wanted my card to be a visual color blast. I didn't do anything fancy, just simple cuts and assembly.
Here is the DS File – The only cartridge used is Accent Essentials. Cinco de Mayo - Celebrate Cut File
I laid out the page for 6 colors on the cutting mat. 6 – 3 by 6 pieces of paper/cardstock.
Do you just love when the cuts actually work. - hehe
Assembly of the flowers and the border
Some Close ups.
Supplies I used:
Cardstock – The Paper Company and
Brads – Making Memories
Glitter Glue – Hampton Art (a la mode) and Sulyn Industires (Fred Meyer's)
Ribbon – ¼" Offray Grossgrain
Ink – Studios G (white) and Stampology (peridot – green, I just fell in love with this color.. why you ask. No idea!!)
Stamp – Making Memories (express it – magnetic stamps)Adhesive – Zip dry (love this glue, just wish it didn't clog up at the end) and foam dimensional (generic – from OfficeMax)
Well, I hope you enjoyed my simple little card. I sure had fun making it and challenging myself to be 'organized' with all the information. This is the first time I have uploaded a DS file, so I am pretty proud of myself.
Hugs, and thanks for taking a peek at my project!
Happy Cinco de Mayo!!
