Today's Daily SPS Inspiration from Denine - Quick Cards

Hello Everyone,

Denine here bringing you some quick cards again.
One of the things that I just LOVE about My Mind's Eye - The Sweetest Thing and nearly all of the My Mind's Eye product lines, are the way the papers and accessories just melt together.

Then I noticed that the Carta Bella Lines Winter Fun and Merry & Bright were an exact match to the colors used in the MME The Sweetest Thing line.  Ohhh was I excited because I LOVE the quality of both of these paper line.  The 12 x 12 papers for both are thick and have texture... oh I just Love them... did I say that already.  Anyhow, enough of my gushing... here are the VERY quick cards I made to mainly show off the color coordination and the paper.   I just did 'fronts' tonight, because I am out of Kraft cardstock and I really think that will work best with these two.

Isn't the print and pattern beautiful on this paper.  I loved the doily print the minute I saw and... I was going to use it for holiday cards ... but... well as you can see that didn't happen. lol

Stamp sets - Fiskars - Friends.
Ink: I also used Texas Chocolate ink for both the edging and the stamp - love this ink.
My papers are from MME "My Sweetest Thing" Lavender - Fabulous Berries and Carta Bella "Merry & Bright" - Green Glow/Cotton Candy and "Winter Fun" - Frozen Beige/Rouge for the solid base layers.
I also used My Sweetest Thing Stickers for the banner, and some Jute.

Well I hope you enjoyed my quick cards.

Happy Friday and Come back tomorrow for our Weekly Challenge... they are so much fun.
There is still time to enter this weeks LOVE challenge... come play with us and be inspired by the other submissions.  They are such a blast to go look at.

Hugs,

Chalkboard or Notebook?

Hello Fellow Crafters and Friends,

I wanted to share sweet little project I made for an exhange.  I liked it so much, it was pretty tough sending it out.  I used the Cuttlebug with a Sizzix die and thought it just turned out sweet.

I had purchased this awesome fabric for a seat cover in our car, where Pumpkin always places her feet, and found out it is actually CHALKBOARD FABRIC.... cool huh??!!  The flowers are made of a Mary Englebright fabric that I had purchased YEARS ago when I was thinking about quilting... as you can see that didn't happen.  The flowers were so much fun to make and so easy peasy!!

So I hot glued the Chalkboard fabric to the front of the notebook along with the flowers.  I used ATG tape for the ribbon, it seemed to be easier for me to make the ruffle effect that way.

Well I hope you enjoyed.  It really was fun to make and I think I will be doing more as gifts for spring.
Happy Crafting.

Projects for the week

Doodlecharms Week - I love this cartridge. I am using http://www.random.org/ to pick the cartridge of the week.

Ok.. so today is MONDAY.. I will get the project posted a little later today.
Monday will be a card or something that takes less than 15 minutes.
I will be keeping Mondays quick since I know most of us are very busy on Monday's.
I will be making some "Happy Birthday" themed tags.

Wednesday will be a Layout
My layouts are usually 2 pages in 12 x 12 design. I will be using Echo Park "Be Mine" line.

Friday will be a "re-purposed" project
I will be using a 'Frango' box to make something.  I am thinking a crayon holder for Pumpkin.

Hope you can join me.
I would love to have you share your project.

Monday Quickie - Lunchbox Notes

I saw this idea a long time ago on 24/7 MOMS for 'Lunch Notes'.  There is even a couple of companies that sell them with pre-printed sayings on them for all age ranges and co-workers, spouses, etc.  I thought since my little Pumpkin just adores "Beauty and the Beast" I would use these FREE Disney Lunch Note Printables as a base for a little 'backpack' note for her.  Not that she can read it, but she will know it is from MOM, so it will be special to her.

Check out the 24/7 MOMS they have several other FREE printable links.

Here is a picture of the Printable block that I picked.
Then I cut a 'square' on page 73 of the Plantin Schoolbook handbook, (Button 42, shift) at 3.5 inches.

I then cut around the border of the printable, since this is for a 3 year old, I did not take to much time with detail.

Added some 'Stickles', because what girl doesn't love a little 'sparkle'.

And wa la done!  Simple Monday!!  You could put a bunch of these together and keep with your sandwich bags to just drop in those lunchboxes or Hubby's coat pocket.  I loved this idea when I saw it many months ago, and know that I can get FREE sentiments.. I will for sure be starting a stash.

Recipe:
Paper - Alphabet Soup - Sweet Song Paper
Sentiment - Disney Lunch Note Printables
Embellishments - Stickles (yellow ), and some other glitter glue in purple.

This project only took a couple of minutes so I thought I would make one more.

I have a house full of candy, which I seriously don't need, so I thought I would take Pumpkins Preschool teachers a little "after the holiday's" treat bag.

Plantin Schoolbook has a wonderful little treat box cut on page 80 of the handbook, (Button 49) with various options using the function keys.  I love the Roly Poly function on nearly everything with this cartridge, so.. I chose the Roly Poly cut.  Using 'Fit to Page' if you have an Expression, (it cut at 6 1/4 inches) you end up with a pretty perfect size treat box.

Then you crease the notch marks, which I love that the cricut puts in there for you, and you are ready to assemble.

I put glue on the front side small tabs and long side tab and on the backside bottom edge.  But this is going to be however you prefer it to seam up.  I like mine to hide.

So here it is assembled.

Easy Peasy!!

Oh of course I decided to give it a little more once it was together, but since I used my ATG it was simple to take apart and give a few stamps and some embossing powder.

Here is the final product.

Simple and it really only took 15 minutes for both projects from start to finish.  Of course dry time for the Stickles is not included. :)

Recipe:
Paper: MME So Sophie Lovely Ledger Paper
Ink: VersaMark in Dazzle
Embossing Powder - Gold

Well I hope you enjoyed the Monday Quickie, I enjoyed making them.

Thank you very much for visiting.  I love comments.. hint hint.. :)

UPDATE:  Pumpkin LOVED her little note and was holding it all the way to Pre-school this morning.  I think it helped 'make her day' better.
