Challenge #37

Congratulations Claire... be sure you grab the Weekly Winners Button in the right column.

I have been participating in the INSIDER class from Online Card Classes... These classes are so wonderful.  Even if you are unable to play along during the dates they have it 'officially' going, once you have enrolled in the class you can check back whenever you want to get inspired or watch how they did a card on their video over and over again.

Jennifer McGuire always amazes me with her water coloring.  So I gave it a try for the first time.  I tried it the 'Denine' method.. using whatever supplies I had, then I decided to go splurge for a water brush and some watercolor paper...oh my what a difference the right tools make.  hehehe.

This one is the 'Denine' Method.. lol

Anyhow, here is my project to share.  Hope you find some inspiration and try to water color also.  It really is a blast and so easy.. of course the more you do it.. the better you will get... At least that's what I am telling myself.

Inside of card with a pop out message... I water colored the leaves on it as well.

Here is the Leaf on the front up close.  I really enjoyed this technique.

Supplies:

Water Coloring Paper from Hobby Lobby
Inks - Vintage Photo, Peeling Paint Tim Holtz and MPS Texas Chocolate
Papers - Solids: Bazill Dard Brown Suede, Double Dot  (?), Classic White
Patterned: Carta Bella - Traditions
Tim Holtz Water Brush (awesome tool)
Stamps - Sentiment is from an online stamp company..(?)
Leaf is from Inkadinkadoo

Be sure you go VOTE for your favorite project submission for Challenge #38 - Primary Colors

Have a wonderful weekend.

SPS Inspiration with Denine - Birthday Banner

Good Morning Friends,

My oldest son turned 23 this week... Happy Birthday Baby Boy

He is a HUGE fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers football team... I mean HUGE.
and sadly for him... his mother doesn't follow any sport her child is not playing!

I made him this banner for his birthday... I think it turned out pretty good considering I have only made 2 banners EVER!!

Here is the LOGO... so easy to do with the CAMEO.  I just found a file via Google... and pasted it right into the Designer Edition software for Silhouette Cameo... used the Print and Cut feature... and presto...

All the banner pieces are from 2 files at the Silhouette Online store.  Combined them and came up with all sorts of layers that worked together.   And for only $1.98 total... can not beat that!

Lots of dimensional adhesive.  I love Zots 3D dots... they are so strong and clear... so they work for all sorts of project.  They are in between the size of a dime and pencil top eraser, so when I need to be smaller for a project, I am able to simply cut them to the size I need.  Really like that!

Here is the card I made to go with it!  Same colors, and shapes.

And a little inside message.  I put a black piece of cardstock behind the yellow so that the edge punch stood out a bit.  I know the punch is not perfectly lined up... it was a last minute thought.   Still adds a little something.

Supplies:

Cameo
Bazzill Cardstocks - Yellow, Black, White
Sentiments - Fiskar Birthday Wishes

Remember - there is still time to VOTE for Challenge #37 projects and
SUBMIT your Project for Challenge #38.

Have a fabulous FRIDAY!!

Today's Daily SPS Inspiration with June - card

Hello!  This is June Houck.  I created this card completely from the Birthday Doodles stamps  and Bazzill card stock sold exclusively at Shop Pumpkin Spice.  There are only three stamp sets left in stock and then they will be gone forever.

The colored Bazzill card stocks are already embossed.  I punched various circles, then used my Xyron to adhere randomly to the white card stock layer.  I embossed the layer with D'Vine Swirls by Cuttlebug.  The cupcake is stamped and fussy cut with some glossy accents.  The ovals are Spellbinders dies.  I added some twine from my stash and fussy cut a tag shape around the "make a wish" sentiment.  Lastly I added some glossy accents to the icing and candle.  This was not a quick card to make, but it was lots of fun!

Supplies:
papers:  Bazzill card stock (smooth white and embossed colors)
stamps:  Birthday Doodles
embossing folder:  Cuttlebug D'Vine Swirls
oval dies:  Spellbinders
twine:  Doodlebug
glossy accents

Happy Tuesday!  June
