I think I've been stuck in a crafty rut. Boo. I'm blaming it on the gloomy weather we've been having. All the cloudy days filled with rain and fog have bummed me out. So to cheer myself up, I made some birthday cards using some summer paper. And it did the trick!! I've been in a summer time mood all day.
I started with some scrap paper I had from the "Paradise Beach" paper pad. Using four different patterned paper, I cut the paper into 1/4 inch strips. Then I took a piece of copy paper measuring 4 1/2 x 4 1/2 and ran adhesive all over it. I laid the strips in a diagonal pattern across the copy paper. It created this really cool and unique patterned paper.
Using my Cricut I cut out a simple silhouette of a birthday cake and cut a square around the image measuring 4 3/4 x 4 3/4. I did some simple white pen outlining and stamping with a "Happy Birthday" stamp from my stash. Super easy, fast and adorable card.
