Summer Blog Hop - Pots of Flowers!!!

Hello Friends,

Welcome to my Blog, and the Summer Blog Hop! If you've come from visiting Giselle, you're in the right place. If you were just looking at my blog and want to play along with our blog hopping fun, you can go to the beginning with Jennifer

This blog hop is intended to help you in the mood for summer... I know that weather hasn't been all that helpful to many of us, so maybe crafts can help us get in the summer spirit!   So sit back, and enjoy the hop!

I always think of Flowers for Summer, I know that is probably more of a spring thing.. but here in Washington.. the pretty colors don't seem to start showing until nearly summer.  Of course our Summers are not HOT like most of the US.

So I found this awesome little design, maybe many of you have seen it, for a Flower Pot pocket card.  So Cute!!  The tutorial can be found at Splitcoaststampers.

My recipe:
Paper - Cosmo Cricket "Nutmeg - Maple"
Paper Company - Pink and Brown cardstock
Ribbons all from my stash..(way to much)
and the brads are from Echo Park Summer Days
Ink - Colorbox Chestnut
Stamp - My Pink Stamper - Everyday Life

Happy Hoppin'!!!

Here is the entire list of HOPPING FUN... just in case you get lost along the way.  You won't want to miss a single project.. they are amazing!!

Flowers for the Nose & Mom's Memories

Hello Friends and Fellow Crafters,

Today is my day to share on The Bug Bytes, a wonderful blog hosted by Pam.  If you ever have a question about your gypsy... she is your go to gal!!

So, I have 2 projects to share with you today.
1st is a fun little project that takes very little time but really spruces up that plain old tissue box.
Pumpkin has had a rough Spring with bug after bug.. so it is the bug BITES at our house. Hehehe

Anyhow, I thought she would just love this little addition to her nightstand, and I was right. :)

I used a tissue box cover that had been given to me in a swap as a guide, which Pumpkin loved a little TOO much!
Recipe –
Paper -
- MME “Stella & Rose” - "Special" Fine Floret Paper
- MME “Ohh La La” – For Him “Frivolous” Paper (retired)
- Flowers Various cardstock scraps
- Base ‘Pink’ recollections cardstock
Clearsnap® Smooch™ Accent Ink Spritz Spun Sugar
Spellbinders Nestabilities Scallop Circle Small for the opening
Buttons & Brads – from stash
Ink – Colorbox pigment ink – Thistle, Oyster White, Chiffon White and Rosebud.
Recycled items – Trim, and Angel and Birdhouse.
Adhesive – Beacon Zip Dry

Cut the base at 9 ½ x 5 ¼ - 2
Score both at ½ and 4 ½.

Cut top at 6 ½ x 6 ½
Score at 1 inch from each side
Cut 1 score line on each side into the adjacent score line
Center the Scallop die in the top and run through your machine. If you don’t have an die cutting machine you can also cut by hand or with a cricut/gypsy, etc.

Cut layers for base at 4 x 4 ¼
Cut top layer at 4 x 4 and 3 ½ x 3 ½
Cut 4 – 4 x ¾ and 4 – 3 ½ x 5/8 for the layers on the top

Flowers are multiple sizes of flowers cut from Schoolbook Plantin images with cricut.
I got my inspiration for the flowers from Colleen at http://www.scrappycol.blogspot.com
I varied them by using buttons and brads in the center.

And as you can see, she used all the tissue already.  I have to admit, it was not a full box. :)

The other project I want to share is something I am kinda proud of... I made if for my Mom. I know it could probably use more 'fluff' but I wanted to give her space for that.

Anyhow, it is a mini album that I finally FINISHED. Yes, FINISHED. I am good about starting but never completing. I purchased a really awesome design instruction plan from Laura at Following The Paper Trail, let me tell ya, well worth the money.

Mom gave my Brother and I a task at Christmas to write her a letter about a special memory we have of her, well that ended up being a 'Project' for both of us.  She loved the outcome!

And as a Mother, I know that we have special memories of our children while they are growing up, that may not be any memory for the child once they are grown.  So I wanted to give Mom a chance to share those with my Brother and Me.

Hence, the 'BLANK' mini album.  One side is for memories she has regarding me and the other is for my Brother.  I am pretty excited to see what she puts in there.  I did not give her a 'deadline'... lol  So knowing my Mom, my Brother and I may be waiting for some time.

It is actually a Double Mini Album, 1 on each side. With 5 pages which actually turn out to be about 20 pages for pic and 15 journaling areas on each side!! Mega Space! Super fun to make!

Thank you so much for taking the time to check out my posting today. I hope you got a 'smile' out of something you saw or got some inspiration to go do something crafty.

Happy Crafting!!
