A Little Wave From My Side of the Fence

Oh my goodness, where do I even begin?

If you've been wondering where I've wandered off to — pull up a chair, friend, because we have some catching up to do. Life, as it has a way of doing, got wonderfully, beautifully, exhaustingly full.

First things first — I went back to work full time. Yes, this girl dove headfirst back into the world of numbers, spreadsheets, and all the things that keep the lights on. It's been a season of long days and busy minds, and while I'm grateful for the work, I'll confess — my craft table has been looking at me with the saddest little eyes.

Add to that a husband who has been traveling the globe for work — we're talking time zones, passport stamps, and middle-of-the-night "just landed safely" texts from places I can barely point to on a map. It's a big world out there, and his job takes him to all corners of it. We are proud of the work he does, and we've learned to cherish the homecomings even more because of the time apart.

And then there are my two greatest projects — Pumpkin and Spice. Watching your kids step into adulthood is something, isn't it? One part pride, one part "wait, you need to know how to do WHAT?!" I've been in the thick of it — mentoring, cheering, problem-solving, and occasionally delivering a gentle reality check with a side hug. Adulting is hard, and they're both doing the work. My mama heart is full.

But here's the sweetest plot twist of this whole season — somewhere in the middle of all of it, I fell in love with sourdough. 🍞 Bagels, specifically. There is something almost meditative about the process — the feeding of the starter, the shaping, the wait. It turns out, when you can't get to your craft table, your hands still need to make things. And those bagels? They are good, friends. I'm just saying.

Now, I find myself at a crossroads — a hopeful one. I'm dreaming about stepping away from the numbers job and picking up my paper and scissors again in a real way. About reconnecting with this community that has meant so much to me over the years. About playing, creating, and sharing again.

I'm not quite there yet — but I'm closer than I've been in a long time.

So consider this my little wave across the fence. I'm still here. I've missed you. And I have a feeling there's something good just around the corner.

PumpkinSpice Hugs to each of you 🧡

Make a Card Monday - Tea Time

Happy Monday!!!

Do you LOVE Monday's or Dred them?  I am a mixture of both. :)

Here is a sweet little card I put together this morning before heading into the office.

I used the Alphabet Junction papers by Carta Bella.  Are those little orange flowers sweet or what?

The jute was a perfect find at Target.  I am starting to get addicted to their $1 area. Yikes!

I used some dimensional tape to elevate the layer with the jute so the card didn't get those creases in the layers when you put the paper right over the jute.

I colored here with a combination of Copic Sketch and ProMarker.  She is not perfect, but I still think she is darn cute!

The adorable stamp is from the T-Time set made by Penny Black.  You can see it in detail HERE!

Hope you enjoyed my little card.

Freebie Friday - #16 and Featured Product week 1

Happy Friday PumpkinSpice Fans...

Oh, I love Freebie Friday!

Today is the 1st week PumpkinSpice is adding the Featured Product series to the line up.

What is the Featured Product about?

Product I enjoy using, enjoy looking at, yep I can just stare at some of these papers and feel relaxes or excited and happy.. crazy how paper can have that type of effect. {smiles}

The featured product will not always be the Freebie Friday item, but you will see it incorporated throughout the week in other posts.

This week I want to call attention to Bazzill Cardstock Solids.

I first purchased Bazzill Classic White and Black Canvas cardstock when I was making my Son and Daughter-in-laws wedding invitations in 2011.

That is when I fell in love with their product.

Then I got my hands on some Dotted Swiss and some Two Scoop... oh my goodness.

The papers have a wonderful texture ingrained into the paper, elimintating the need to emboss, for a quick card.

The weight of the Cardstock is perfect for a card of substance, meaning you can use light weight papers for the layers and the card still stands on its own with no troubles.

FREEBIE FRIDAY is this lot of 13 - 12x12 sheets of solid Bazzill Cardstock.

To be eligible for the Freebie today, simply do 2 things:
  • 1. Leave a comment
  • 2. Go to Challenge #66 and vote for your favorite project.  You can vote for up to 3 submissions. Check out the projects... amazing!)
  • Not required but I would love to see you as a new friend on the PumpkinSpice Facebook Page.

Is everyone ready for the week?  I am working on my 1st cup of coffee... once I hit 3 cups the blur will fade. hehe

Here is the cute little card I made for today.

Used the Moo-ey Doodles stamps... these cows are so much fun.  Pumpkin just loves them!
Markers are Copic, the face tones set.  I will start writing down the colors when I use them.  I am so new to this coloring I am just experimenting with colors right now.

Tuesday non-Tutorial - #11

Happy Tuesday Everyone...

Thank you everyone for your well wishes... you really warm my heart.  I am feel much better but this persistent cough is still with me.

I have an adorable set of stamps to share with you.  I love Elephants... and actually search for stamp sets with these sweet HUGE creatures.  But they are not easy to find.

When I saw these come out from Penny Black.. I was first on the Pre-Order list.. eeeekkkkk....

So excited.. they just arrived on my doorstep yesterday!

Are these adorable or what??!!

I have not done much coloring, with the exception of crayons.... but I sure had fun with the few Copic markers I have... didn't realize how easy they are to use.  I think I might have found a new addiction.  LOL

Here is my cute little ellie close up!

I really thought it would be incredibly difficult to do the shading you see all the pro's do.  But the pens really do a lot of the work for you.  It is just a matter of practice.. I think.

And here is the finished card....

Isn't he a cutie pie!!!  I can't wait to get more markers to play...

Happy Crafting....

Make a Card Monday - #9

Yeah for Monday....

Here is a quick card I made using the Winter Fun line from Carta Bella.  I use the 12 x 12 papers because they are heavier and I just love the texture the single sheet have.

I need a congratulations card that was a little masculine, so I picked shades of blue but with a little pattern.

I also used two different stamps sets from My Pink Stamper and some of my DIY dots.

Of course my base is the Dark Brown Suede... Love this cardstock by Bazzill.

Hope you have a wonderful Monday... stop in tomorrow for the Tuesday Tutorial, I have a little surprise on the video.

Tutorial Tuesday - #8 Card using Doily

Happy Tuesday Everyone,

I have a quick video for you today showing how easy it is to incorporate a doily into nearly any card.

I am a late bloomer when it comes to the doilies... they have been on the 'scene' for a while, but my package is just getting opened. :)

Anyhow, I wanted to share Pumpkins doily project also.

Super cute right??!!  She surprised me with this while I was preparing dinner.

I love that she has a desire to craft.

Well I hope you enjoy my little "Have a Moo-eey Day" card using a doily.  I think it is moo-eey cute.

**I figured out how to shut off the auto focus, now I just need to figure out how to stay in the frame.**

Supplies:

MPS Moo-ey Doodles Stamp Set
MPS Texas Chocolate Ink
AC Pumpkin Patch paper
Bazzill Classic White (inside layer - my other go to paper)
Bazzill - Dark Brown Suede!!!! Yep this is the one I can not believe I did not remember the name.  LOVE THIS PAPER!!

Happy Crafting everyone...

Make A Card Monday - #8

Happy Monday Everyone,

How are all my snowed in friends?  What crazy weather we are having this year...
They had everyone here in the Puget Sound scurrying to the grocery stores and preparing for a snow storm that was to start on Saturday early morning... only to get NOTHING but RAIN... LOL

I suppose we should be thankful for rain... but it would be really nice to see a couple inches of Snow this year.  Poor Pumpkin still has not had a chance to play in the snow this year.

Today I put together a card to simply showcase the pretty patterned paper.  It has a slight linen texture to it as well.

This is the Crate Paper papers I purchased at Big Lots for a super amazing prices.  The floral pattern and colors really attracted my attention.  I used several layers and just put each a 1/4 smaller than the previous.  I think it turned out very pretty for a simple 'Paper' Card.  No ink, no bling, simply paper and adhesive.

Hope you have an amazing Monday!  These are typically my 'want to stay under the covers' days.. hehehe  I think every week should start on Tuesday and end on Thursday.. hehe  4 day weekends every week would be BLISS... right??

Make a card Monday - #6

Happy Monday Everyone,

Oh my what a Weekend!  Did everyone get SNOW??  We had our sweet addition, Violet, arrive on the 6th, then the snow started on the 8th and Sunday was Spice's 19th Birthday!!!

February is going to be a busy month going forward. So happy for my oldest son and daughter-in-law.  Snickerdoodle is a very proud big sister.

Here is a card I made for my dear DIL.

I used the same paint dauber on my stamps to coordinate colors.

these are some of the floral beads that I used the Ranger paint daubers on.  I like the finish and they worked great.

I used Pretty Party by Crate Paper and Follow Your heart - Be happy by MME.
Cut file is from Silhouette Online - Design ID #54163

My first time holding Violet Ivy... such a sweet bundle!
